Tip: The batons have a locking system so they do not close when you need them open. To close it simply hold the baton (grip end) in your hand almost level to the floor. Tap the end of the baton on the ground. Rotate in your hand and repeat 3-4 times. That will loosen it up a bit. Then strike the baton straight down on a hard, unyielding surface. Soft surfaces like carpet do not work well.
